A Virginia man found passed out in a vehicle in Breezewood is behind bars after state police discovered the car was reported stolen and involved in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday.

Johnathan James O’Donnell, 31, of Front Royal, was arraigned Wednesday night before Magisterial District Judge Brian K. Baker on felony charges of possession of a firearm prohibited, receiving stolen property and firearms not be carried without a license, as well as a misdemeanor charge of false identification and summary charges of careless driving and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

Unable to post $200,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility. His preliminary hearing is set for June 21 in Bedford

County Central Court.

According to court documents, police were called about 4:02 p.m. Wednesday to the Breezewood Sheetz for an unconscious male in the driver's seat of a gold Ford Focus. A trooper administered Narcan to the man, who was originally identified as Orbin Dewayne Kline, according to a Virginia ID card.

When police opened the car door to render aid, a loaded Smith & Wesson Rossi .320-caliber snub nose revolver was seen in the door pocket of the vehicle. In addition, a small bag of suspected narcotics fell to the ground when the door was opened, police reported, and a glass pipe with residue was observed in the door pocket.

When police interviewed O’Donnell in the back of the ambulance, he said he couldn't recall what happened that day and he only smoked marijuana an hour and a half ago.

O’Donnell claimed the vehicle was his, he was homeless and just driving around.

When police ran the vehicle's VIN, it was found to be stolen from Virginia. In addition, it was discovered that the Focus was involved in a hit and run in the Everett area.

O’Donnell was transported to UPMC Bedford where he refused a blood test. After being cleared by doctors, he was read his Miranda warning in the ER department and searched. Police found a small bag of suspected drugs in his shorts, but O’Donnell denied ownership of the substance, court documents state.

After he was fingerprinted and photographed at the Bedford barracks, he denied ownership of the gun, drugs and drug paraphernalia.

As he was being transported to arraignment, he told police his name wasn't Kline, but actually O’Donnell.

A criminal check of O’Donnell shows that he was found guilty of felony burglary in Virginia and is prohibited from possessing a firearm, court documents state.
