Sep 26, 2023How to remove limescale from shower doors: 14p fridge item removes hard water marks
Those in hard water areas will be more than aware of the devastating effects of limescale.
Hard water has a high mineral content which means when it's inside appliances or on glass, the minerals group together and solidify creating limescale.
If left, limescale will get thicker and can even make appliances less efficient
With this in mind, fans of cleaning and lifestyle influencer Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, have shared their simple solution for banishing limescale from shower doors.
Mrs Hinch has more than 4.6 million followers on Instagram and often shares her garden and home tips online with her followers.

Recently, fans of hers have taken to social media to share their own hacks for solving common household problems.
On one such group, Facebook user Paige Carby asked: "What's the best way to remove hard water stains from glass shower doors? I’ve tried multiple things bits it's not being fully removed. Thanks."
The post was inundated with responses but the most suggested solution was to use a lemon either by itself or with baking soda or salt.
Bridget Fadden commented: "Lemon juice and salt. Make a paste and use the cut lemon to rub it onto the glass, taps and everything that has water stains. Rinse it off."
Lucy Lastic replied: "Cut a lemon in half and rub it all over. Leave it as long as possible before buffing it off with a cloth."

Jan Hamilton said: "A lemon and bicarbonate of soda. I'm in a hard water area and it works great, once you've done it you can tweak it to suit.
"Cut the lemon in half lengthways, (gives more surface area) and give it a little squeeze to release some juice and sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda on it.
"It should start to fizz. Rub it over the screen generously, leave for a few minutes then wash off with the shower head. If there are any marks left, give it a quick go again. It comes up lovely and sparkling and smells great."
Emma-Jane May wrote: "Cut a lemon in half, dip it in bicarbonate of soda and rub it all over to create an exfoliating effect. Then, clean it off with water and a glass cloth."
Lemons are a common household ingredient that can be found in most homes. However, those who don't have any lemons can buy them online or from most local supermarkets.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included using citric acid, Viakal, white vinegar, baking soda and shaving foam.
Kate Eccles said: "Shaving foam, scrub then rinse, then use a car windscreen wash and leave it on for a good five minutes. Rinse off and use a window squeegee. We have hard water where I live and I do this on ours."
Cathy Robinson replied: "Citric acid. Dissolves limescale in minutes."
Sarah Nolan wrote: "Viakal. Leave for 10 minutes, wipe and repeat if necessary."
Emily Hutton posted: "Bicarbonate of soda, Fairy Liquid and white vinegar works a treat. Let it soak, scrub and then rinse off."
